About Grant

I grew up feeling very alone. I was bullied badly in school, and even around my friends, I never felt like I belonged or could be myself. I constantly felt awkward and uneasy around people.

As I was entering high school, I wondered how and if that might change. I became interested and curious about how to connect with people and have good conversations. I discovered that for me, the key was listening. By starting with listening and asking good questions, not only could I feel more comfortable with people, I could help create space for genuine and meaningful connection.

I’ve spent much of the past 12 years since graduating from high school informally studying and experimenting with conversations, from reading books to testing out different strategies to literally asking people for feedback on how a particular conversation was for them. I’m at a place in my life where I sincerely feel that I can have a great conversation with just about anyone who is open to it, from the people closest to me in my life to complete strangers.

My hope is to share what I’ve learned with others. I sincerely believe that the world is a brighter place when two people connect, and I’d love to help you experience that more in your life and help you share that with others in your life.
